About the Sun and Moon Earrings

For astrology, the sun means the masculine energy embodied in the father figure and the moon symbolizes the feminine side of the world, feelings and motherhood.

These earrings represent these two opposite and complementary forces. The sun's rays (at the bottom) are directed towards the earth to illuminate the world and as we approach the center, a crescent moon appears eclipsing space, transforming into various phases, giving way to night.

There has always been a close relationship between the stars and mythology. Apollo, the sun god, is represented with a crown of rays radiating from his head. Every morning he rides a flaming golden chariot across the sky to bring the light of truth to the world. Artemis, her twin sister, is the lunar goddess and represents femininity, she was born before her brother and helped her mother give birth to him. During the night she rides her own chariot through the sky bringing the cloak of darkness and carrying a crescent moon on her head.

The poet says that "the sun and the moon are friends who avoid each other", but as you can see, nothing could be further from the truth.
