The hydrangeas of Bello's Garden
SOFIA SERRANO COELLO DE PORTUGALShare
In Bello's Garden there is a corner full of hydrangeas.
Every time one of his grandchildren was born, someone would send some hydrangeas to welcome them, and he would take them to his garden and plant them there. He loved to show you the corner of the hydrangeas of his grandchildren.
I don't know if they were his favorite flowers because he liked all the plants in his garden, but there was indeed a special bond with that little corner of flowers. That's why I was struck that day when I was walking through his garden, to discover some bunches of dried hydrangeas that had remained intact, as if frozen, with their perfect shape.
A gut feeling told me to take them and try to do something with them.
In the workshop, as I worked on the flowers with the metal, the results were much more beautiful than I expected, and I was able to materialize different ideas. Now I have six different designs created from these flowers.
They say that intuition can be developed by working on it, and that is what I have been doing for a while. Letting myself be guided by it has brought me pieces like these.

These are the six pieces that I have made using hydrangea flowers from El Jardín de Bello.
